Rock Climbing on Windgather Rocks 12-11-2011

Saturday morning saw my daughter and I having a go at rock climbing and abseiling at the Windgather Rocks in the Peak District with Wilderness Development. A really enjoyable experience in lovely Autumn weather. A group of six of us, with our instructor showing us how to climb a 40ft rock face with the aid of ropes. A first time experience for me and one that I would definitely do again. Well recommended for the more adventurous out there.

Snowdon Horseshoe Video 26th June 2011

Crib Goch to the summit of Snowdon on June 26th 2011. The weather was warm & cloudy with a little wind. Windy & cloudy on the summits. A great day to be out in the mountains

June 26th 2011. Coming of Snowdon via the Watkins Path and on to the summits of Y Lliwedd before making my way down to the Miners Track. The weather remained warm and cloudy around the summits before finally lifting and the day finished in blue sky and plenty of early evening sun. A fantastic day to be out in the mountains

Jacobs Ladder to Ringing Roger - Edale 6/11/2011

With a fantastic day weather wise forecast for Sunday 6th November we decided that Edale would be the perfect place for a Sunday walk as it's been sometime since we were last there. We decided to go up Jacobs Ladder and follow the ridge right round to Ringing Roger and back into the village. Got parked up at the railway car park about 10.30am and set off for the village and the start of the Pennine Way. A lovely sunny blue sky day with just a nip in the air that tells us winter is just round the corner. In fact we had to scrap the ice of the car first thing!! We made our way across the open fields on the well marked path, through Coopers Farm and on to the start of Jacobs Ladder. It's the only bit of hard work to be done all day and only lasts about half an hour and then a good easy walk all round the edge. The stone sculptures are really something and if you look closely enough you can make out all sorts of things. Looking over to Mam Tor and Rushup Edge, there seemed to be a paragliding club in full swing as we counted about 30 of them and some were that high they seemed to be going into space. Looks a great thing to do put I'm OK with both feet on the ground thanks! Quite a few walkers about but not as many as the weather would suggest. If it was a summers day it would of been a hell of a lot busier but as it's November it was very quiet, just how we like it. Time fly's when you have fun and Ringing Roger was soon to be reached so we made our way down back to the village where we called in to the Ramblers for a well earned pint and some food. We timed it well, as we got back to the pub at 4.15 and by 5 it was dark so a good 6 hours, or very nearly, on a lovely sunny crisp day around a very pleasant area which never dissapoints. Fantastic

A fine day on this classic walk. A cool and breezy morning that warmed up nicely and ended in glorious late summer warmth. Brilliant views all around.
